Self‑taught. Sought‑after.

Sparkbox was never supposed to be a DJ. He was a producer, a film school kid in Charleston making beats and sneaking them into parties. Then his boy needed somebody to cover a gig. “I don’t DJ. I just produce.” Didn’t matter. A few days later the flyer hits his phone, and the name on it says Sparkbox. “Wait, who’s Sparkbox? I thought I was DJing.” That was the name. That was the night. He’s been on the decks ever since.

He’s been making things since sixth grade, behind a camera first and now running a creative agency. Same energy in the booth. Two genres that have no business together. Two artists nobody would put side by side. A scratch that turns the whole room around. If you’re not noticing what he’s doing, he’s not doing his job.

That’s taken him from Charleston’s top clubs to rooms across the country and overseas, all the way to direct support for Diplo in Charlotte. Since 2017 he’s run Sun‑Sets on the Revelry rooftop. No genre rules. Just the vibe while the sun goes down.

The part he’s proudest of? People telling him they started DJing because of him. Somebody put him on. Now he’s putting others on.
